Don't go into court talking about "speed traps". What you experienced wasn't a speed trap. The term "speed trap", if and when it is used in traffic enforcement, describes the action of using a section of highway to calculate a vehicle's speed from the time through which it travels. In common language, most people describe a "speed trap" the same way as you did -- when more than one police vehicle goes out and stops traffic for speeding. There is no law that prohibits that. It is done all the time, and is perfectly legal.
